Collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

AJNIFM had initiated the Post Graduate Diploma in Management program with specialization in Financial Management in the year 2000. This Programme has since successfully completed twenty batches. The program has received recognition from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and is now approved for the award of MBA (FM) from the batch of 2022-2024.

AJNIFM had entered into a MoU with a Central University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, in March 2022, wherein JNU has placed AJNIFM in the list of Recognized Research Institute. JNU has issued an ordinance governing the conduct of these management programs. An academic Committee has been formed by JNU to monitor & supervise these Programmes. JNU has recognize these programmes as MBA(Financial Management) & MBA(Finance) from the batch 2022-24 onwards. The participants will be enrolled with JNU on joining the programmes & will be allocated JNU’s enrolment number. The curriculum, evaluation & declaration of results will be held with the approval of the Academic Committee. Accordingly, AJNIFM sent a letter to AICTE on 22.08.2022 to withdraw from its approval from 2023-24.

i) AJNIFM is a Central Training Institute and not a technical college.  It is not affiliated to JNU.  As per MoU, JNU has recognized AJNIFM as a Research Institution along with some other Government Institutions.  The MoU has recognized the existing management programmes being run by Institute.  JNU will be awarding MBA degrees to these programmes from 2022-2024.  JNU has also issued an ordinance as part of recognition for these programmes as MBA programmes.  This ordinance lays down the eligibility, disciplines, admission procedure, registration, duration, credit requirements, evaluation, framing of syllabus, etc. of the MBA programmes.  In other words, the ordinance governs the conduct of these programmes.  Further, JNU has constituted an Academic Committee to supervise/oversee the conduct of these programmes.  The participants joining these programs will be enrolled with JNU and each of them is allotted a distinct University Enrolment Number.  The examination guidelines have been approved by JNU.  The date of examination is notified after the consent of JNU.  After compilation of results, an inspection team of JNU inspects them.  Thereafter the results have to be submitted to Academic Committee for approval before declaration.  The mark sheets and the degrees are awarded by JNU. As the participants are enrolled by JNU, which is a Central University, there seems to be no need for approval of AICTE.
